What would you be if …?

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

What would you be if you are not who you are today?
This is a question i always keep to myself as for what happen when you suddenly loss interest in your job. What would you rather be?
If you are a realist, then you will probably be in a different company but with a similiar job scope.
If you are an adventurist, you will probably try to start a business.
But if you are a tv/movie-addict, you would probably get all sorts of crazy ideas and the possibilities are endless. This is not about being Superman or Batman (If you do not have any real power, except a large cave beneath your apartment…).

Imagine yourself as …

  • A waterboy in a football team
  • Will Smith as a personality consultant
  • Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie as hired assassins
  • Vampire Hunter (Blade Trilogy, Underworld, Van Helsing)
  • Security manager of a casino in Las Vegas
  • Psychic consultant in the police force
  • Math consultant to the FBI, and ect.

The most promising and exciting of the all is from my new favourite show, Las Vegas. This series revolves around a group of individuals managing a casino/hotel in Las Vegas. The main character is the Security Manager who encounters weird obstacles everyday of his life in the casino. Oddly enough, what he does fopr a living is what i can relate to my own job. Here I am in a post-production company making sure operations run accordingly. Facing different situations every day is what I have gotten used to. I have never liked 9-5 working period. And never liked doing the same job repeatedly too.

So who said TV is always bad? TV is always a good source of inspiration for everything. TV is a summary of our lives. No TV … and we are dead.

What if you get tomorrow’s paper?

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

Fp_thestar I don’t know why, but this question has been going in my head since 2 hours ago. What would you do if you got to know tomorrow’s news before it happened?
This is a list of what I would do.

  • Save a loved one from an accident which was supposed to happen.
  • Prevent a tragedy or disaster from happening by alerting the people involved.
  • Stock up oil if there is going to be another price increase.
  • Buy up stocks which increase tomorrow and sell them immediately later.
  • Bet on today’s football matches and their statistics precisely to win big money.
  • And last but for sure, look up to the winning 4D, Toto and all other number games and hit the jackpot in all of them. (I bet everyone has this as their number one priority)

Well, that’s the fantasy part of the question. What would you have done if you do know what would be happening tomorrow?

  • You would have said goodbye to someone whom you met today and will never meet again.
  • You would not have gone to watch a movie if you know it sucks.
  • You would not have done something which would have an effect on you later.
  • You would not have let something slip out of your tongue either.
  • You would not have quit your job if you know that there is no other better place to go for.
  • You would have chosen to study a different majoring which is more promising for you.
  • You would have studied better to get the chance to go to a better college/university.

And so, how would you know that the decision you make is actually the correct one? Truth is, it’s all about luck, judgment and risk. You should never depend 100% on luck, but always on the risk you dare to take and the correct judgment you make. It is also not always the correct decision you make now. Sometimes we need to learn from mistakes to be correct in the future. Human errors are the most effective teachers. Damn … I sound like a DiGi commercial.

Think, before you act.
Act, before you regret.
Regret, and you shall never learn.

1st year anniversary

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

It’s been a year since I started blogging. Not to call it blogging at all. It’s just random inputs from my everyday life and occasional nice stories I’ve read.
A year has gone by with alot of happennings; good, bad and also some which is neither good nor bad.
A year of loss, and a year of gain.
But most of all, a year where I’ve gained alot of working experience; learning from people and learning about people.
And tonight … I purposely requested to go back from work early. Reason? I think I deserve to go back early. Spending a little quiet time without work, even for just a few hours is such a luxury for me. And the last thing I wanna say is …
Welcome to my life.
Happy Anniversary to the blog.
Happy 3:16 to me.

Work, Work!

Sunday, March 5th, 2006

For the past three months, I was no more an editor for a post-production house, but have instead became a multi-tasker operations department guy. The work load is so unconventional that i don’t have a name card coz ‘the management does not know what to put my job designation under my name’. And because of that, I am unable to properly introduce myself, much less talk about my line of work. But anyhow, I’m enjoying my work and grabbing every chance I have in learning the tools of the trade.
Thanks to my boss for having faith in me.

Paintball!!!!

Sunday, March 5th, 2006

Wow … my last post was in January 20!
Oh my gosh … Kinda reminds me how long have I neglected my blog. Anyway, kinda don’t know what to blog in the past month coz of the hours i spent everyday at work.
Because most of the work which I am involved in is also Private & Confidential, I cant blog about them either. But the best thing which happened recently are the usual Birthday bashes and weekend getaways …
Oh ya, this morning I joined my collegues for a game of Paintball (at a place somewhere near Zoo Negara). It is totally awesome. No points for guessing where we got that idea suddenly. It’s of course from a Pepsi "Paintball" commercial which we produce recently. It’s the next best thing to holding real guns. We had a few sessions of jungle ‘Capture the Flag’ matches and also a few Skirmish Paintball fight. The pain of getting hit is pretty much enough to leave a scar on you, but what the heck … no pain, no gain.
We had so much fun that we are looking forward to the next game soon. (hopefully soon)
