When it rains, it pours shit!

That can be summarized for this crazy weather that we are enduring now. Firstly, there is this almost 2 months (I think) of eye-soring haze, now it’s never-stop-raining days. Well, can’t complain too much about the rain for it cleared up the skys pretty good. Don’t believe it? The pictures below are taken from Salak Selatan overlooking KL.
The first pic is on Oct 9, and the second pic this morning Oct 26.

This is also true in the workplace. At certain time of the year, the advertising industry in Malaysia is slow; not much commercials to be done and not much work to be done. Well, at least for us at MFX at least. But then … the following months will be tough with everyone working around the clock to meet extremely impossible deadlines. Thank god it is seasonal, else we would all be dead a long time ago.

Cheers to the guys who are still at work now!

Hua Hin Here We Go!

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

Here I am in the office at 9.00pm, with a bag packed ready to go on my second company trip. This time to a coastal city of Hua Hin, Thailand. Ya… ya … you heard everyone saying avoid Thailand at all cost. Our second choice was actually Bali (which is a suicide attempt to go there during the Ramadhan month … ) and our third choice was Ho Chi Minh (which turn out to be wrecked by hurricane in the past week.  Talk about close calls … last year we were planning to go to Bali when it was stuck by suicide bombers 2 weeks before our actual trip and we had to divert our plans to Chiang Mai instead.

This year, it is a good time to go; to escape from the hazy Kuala Lumpur into a hopefully clearer skied Hua Hin. Didn’t do much research on what to expect there in Hua Hin. Left it a lot to my collegues to plan the whole thing. I would just like to tag along this time. It’s pretty hectic work everyday already, so i do not want to burden myself with organizing company trip. Let the other guys do something fun instead. It’s my time to relax. :P

We are due to fly at 8.00am; which means that we all have to gather in the office at 5.30-ish tomorrow morning. The most logical way to solve my transportation-less problem is of course, sleepover in the office!
It’s not so much of a weird thing though, many have tried and many have succeeded. No floating ghosts in the office anyway … THe best fun is … I’m not the only one. Expecting late night international soccer, early morning breakfast and hangover the next few days.

Hope to last long enough to blog another post.
Til we meet again, c ya!
